Description and usage notes:

One of the most widely used antioxidants in perfumery.  Widely added to aroma chemicals by the better manufactures to help keep the product stable, it’s rarely added to genuine naturals but can help significantly in improving shelf-life both in storage and in the finished product.  Especially useful with citrus oils and aldehydic materials.

Typical use levels are 0.05% or less in concentrated materials.

Arctander gives this description: “insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and Propylene glycol. Soluble in most oils and essential oils at 0.05 to 1%

Used as an Antioxidant in foods, chemicals, perfume materials (natural and synthetic), etc., often in combination with Butyl hydroxy anisole (BHA) and Propyl gallale, Citric acid, etc. in Propylene glycol solution.

Will rarely influence the odor of the raw material or the composition in which it is incorporated at normal recommended use level.”

This is one of the most important perfumery products.
If we make a perfume containing citrus, lavender, aldehydes
we will notice that after a few months it smells unpleasantly
due to the oxidation of the mentioned oils. This product protects the perfume ingredients against oxidation.
