Description and usage notes:

Produced by Givaudan who describe it like this: “Odor: Tropical Fruity, Guava, Grapefruit, Rhubarb, Cassis.  Use: Paradisamide is a long lasting, fresh tropical fruit note of guava and passion fruit with nuances of grapefruit, rhubarb and cassis.”

Very versatile and easy to use, particularly in small amounts to enhance citrus or tropical fruit accords as well as to give a tropical connotation to other fragrances.

Arcadi Boix Camps, writes in 2009, that “this material is extremely strong-citrus, with a metallic note reminiscent of grapefruit, and elements including styrallyl acetate, a rhubarb-like character with aspects of the supreme and unknown beta-vetivone, vetiveryl acetate, nootkatone and dihydronootkatone.  It is very diffusive and quite long-lasting.  This is a key captive chemical that has been used already in great fragrances such as Lacoste for men.”  He goes on to suggest that it blends particularly well with allyl amyl glycolate, spirogalbanone, pharaone, cashmeran, dihydromyrcenol and coranol among others.
