Description and usage notes:

Manufactured by Symrise, this is an extremely useful product for boosting the effects of the more expensive vetiveryl acetate, but can also be effective in fruity compositions and with citrus as well as woody or ambery fragrance types.  It is a clear, water-white liquid.

Symrise describe it like this:

Odor Description: woody, vetiver, citrus, floral
Stability: body lotion (good), shampoo/shower gel (very good), soap (very good), AP roll-on 15% (very good), detergent powder conc. (very good), cleaner liquid citric acid (very good), cleaner APC liquid (excellent), bleach (poor)
Perfumery Use: gives a clean freshness to vetiver accords; gives tart and bitter elements to citrus top notes; underlines red fruit characteristics
Use Level: 0.5 – 4%

Arcadi Boix Camps, writing in 1985, says that this material “has a top note very typical of the essential oil of vetiver but without the woody note of vetiverol” but also points out that it is not a full substitute for the natural oil as it lacks the radiant effect.
