As you may know the UK Government has imposed new restrictions regarding COVID-19 starting this week and we wanted to provide you with a further update from Pell Wall.
I’d like to start by thanking so many of you who sent condolences and supportive and sympathetic messages in response to our last News from the Edge update mail concerning the difficulties we’ve had recently and the resulting delays to despatching orders. There were too many to respond to individually but all were deeply appreciated. We’re beginning to get on top of the backlog of orders now.
We are still operating more-or-less as usual. Chris, our perfumer and the small team of people who fulfil your orders, are still able to work from our lab in Shropshire, which is part of the family home. Fortunately HMG have made specific exceptions to the Stay at Home order for work purposes, including for when that work involves going into someone else’s home. During the first lockdown we developed procedures, such as contactless collection for our couriers, and we will to continue to operate these.
Ben, who handles customer support and technical support works from his home in Manchester and Julia who does our accounts and bookkeeping works from her home in another part of Shropshire.
Our online store is still open, and we are still continuing to serve our loyal and supportive customers in this difficult time. Some of our suppliers are having difficulty fulfilling orders, one or two have closed completely, but most are still operating albeit with increased prices: please bear with us if there are stock shortages.
Delivery Restrictions and Delays
So far our two main couriers, DPD and DHL, are able to deliver to most destinations although in many cases more slowly than usual. Please check their websites for up to date information on the situation in your location – in some places there are temporary suspensions to service – but for most destinations deliveries continue as usual.
