Classic laboratory tweezers, also known as forceps, are cheap but very useful to have around. At Pell Wall these are mainly used for removing the awkward inner seals from various bottles and flasks, but they are also handy for recovering stirrer bars from beneath completed mixtures in the automatic stirrer, for handling small amounts of hard resins and lots of other little ad hoc tasks.
If you prefer to wash and re-use your glass pipettes, these are essential for removing and replacing the cotton plugs: don’t try to wash the pipette with the plug still inside, if it gets wet it’s rendered useless and will need replacing.
