svukobrat (verified owner) –
The sample pack is very inexpensive way to find out what Pell Wall is about, I ordered 3.
Before I dive into impressions on specific fragrances, a few general observations. I have worked a bit with essential oils and absolutes, and can say that quality of ingredients is obvious, I believe there is a lot of natural ingredients used.
I got 1ml samples to begin with, so I could not judge correctly projection and lasting power, that will come after larger samples/bottles are tried, in general I am getting decent performance from nearly all, one was still detectable 24 hours later and after showering. I could say that some are quite exceptional and are clearly full bottle worthy.
A few are quite unusual, after some time I realized that some remind me of (dare I say) Creed fragrances, no copies of specific ones, just similarities, as if some share similar base and ingredients.
Devana – clearly noticeable green bitter Artemisia with a touch of something slightly floral what may be freesia, some mint, traces of green tee, and maybe some citrus. The Artemisia is the main player, but does not stay pronounced too long and soon settles into smooth composition together with other notes. Later on black currant comes to surface. I cannot think of other Artemisia focused fragrances as good as this one, if you love Artemisia you will love this fragrance. No doubt full bottle worthy, beside this fragrance I for sure will be getting their Davana oil.
Minted Mornings – starts with fresh green mint, toothpaste like and very strong, and soon becomes smooth blend of mint, juniper, petitgrain and musk. There is something a bit woody and pungent in the background which I cannot recognize, not bad at all. Not sure yet if full bottle worthy, but small bottle goes on my to-get list.
Anjin – I get nice blend of lime, neroli, bergamot, clove, lavender (although not all are listed) with some woody and sweet background that I cannot identify. Full bottle worthy.
Green Carnation – kind of old fashioned oakmossy bitter floral blend, nice one if you like such fragrances, very masculine.
Tempus Ludendi – quite unusual in a good way, kind of greenish, slightly vegetable kind, very aromatic and strong, could not quite figure out what I could sense till I looked at notes, then cognac popped up right away, smells like real cognac EO, followed by lime, lavender, mint, clove, traces of basil, quite manly fragrance, goes on my to-get list.
Fruit Wood – Grapefruit juice with tons of sugar sprinkled with cinnamon, not sure if I would wear it or drink it
Equisetum – probably the most strange one I tried, impression of some kind of green vegetable and slightly nutty, from the listed notes I could recognize only cucumber and hardly anything else, later on bergamot, petitgrain, geranium and lavender became discernible. Strange but not bad at all.
Orange Spice – Exactly as the name says, the initial blast of orange is heavenly, ripe and sweet, smells like some kind of cocktail with lots of pure orange and mandarin juice and some highly flavored spicy liqueur. I cannot discern any individual notes beside orange and mandarin except a bit of petitgrain, maybe cinnamon, I do not know what gives the spiciness to the cocktail. Later on I can smell orange pulp. I wish the initial orange smell would last longer, unfortunately it disappears too quickly. I am not sure if this is wearable in many occasions, but I will get more of this at least for personal pleasure.
Tuesdays – another unusual one, fruity, spicy, fresh, a little bit boozy, I can recognize bergamot mint, bitter chocolate (no sweetness at all), a little bit of davana but not like the one in Devana fragrance, this one smells to me more like Indian yellow (not green) oil variety that is boozy and dry fruit like, there is some clove and rose as well.
Deep Purple – Very green slightly flowery and powdery, this one to me smells like mixture of violet flower, violet leaf, iris, basil, mint. Flowery aroma comes to forefront later. Must have.
Lasting Lavender – rosemary and lavender are main players, with some geranium and support from ambergris and musk. It is characterized as feminine, I am male and I would wear it
