Fixatives
Fixatives are materials that help fragrances last longer: there are a great many of them, most have an odour of their own in addition to fixative properties and not all fixatives work in the same way or on on the same materials. These kits are intended to enable you to explore some of the most useful fixatives so that you can get to know how they work with your other materials and how they differ from each other.
Musk Fixatives
Probably the most widely used group of fixatives are the musks: there are lots of different ones and for the beginner it can be very difficult to tell them apart by odour. In this kit we present 19 of the most useful for you to explore, along with a set of simple guidance notes on the different uses of each. Also provided is a musk blend: it’s rare that musks are used singly, better effects are obtained by using them in combination and this blend is intended to provide good fixation and support for a wide variety of fragrance types. You get a 10ml glass bottle of 17 individual musks and of the Pell Wall Musk Blend, plus plastic pots of 10g of two musks supplied in solid form.
