Description and usage notes:
Warm floral and fruity odour of moderately good tenacity. Particularly useful in jasmine and other floral complexes where it can be used to extend the effect of benzyl acetate as well as bringing its own particular character.
Arctander suggests it is “Used in perfume compositions as a modifier-companion to Benzyl acetate and or Benzyl propionate. Performs well in soap. Also as a modifier for floral-fruity notes in Acacia, Geranium, Muguet, Rose, Lily, etc. Must be used in concentrations far below those of Benzyl acetate.”
He describes the odour as: “Heavy, fruity-floral odor, mainly fruity like Plum.”
