Description and usage notes:
Interesting material that occurs widely in natural oils and plant scents, including Ylang Ylang, hyacinth, cinnamon and bay among others.
Arctander says this has a: “Mild oily -fruity and somewhat green odor with balsamic and faintly floral undertones.” and suggests that it is used “mainly as a modifier for floral-green components of Jasmin and other floral complexes.”
Curtis & Williams suggest that it is used “in carefully controlled dosages, as a fixative for Hyacinth and other florals, also as a modifier for cinnamyl alcohol.” they also suggest its use in their Lilac base and point out that it occurs in both Cassia and Cinnamon Bark oils.
Normally used in relatively small amounts, perhaps 1-5% of the concentrate.
