Description and usage notes:
A useful fruity-floral material that can contribute fixation and background freshness to a wide variety of fragrance types.
Description from IFF: “A bright minty odor of modest strength with rose and raspberry qualities.”
Arctander describes this material as having a: “Powerful, sweet-fruity odor of considerable tenacity. The fruitiness is of rather nondescript character, which is almost typical of the Ethyl- and Methyl-cyclohexanol esters, but their sweetness and power exceed that of the corresponding Benzyl- or Phenylethyl esters.” He goes on to suggest that it “It acts partly as a blender, partly as a fixative for some of the more volatile alifatic fruit esters, or the lower Phenylacetates in Honey bases.”
