Description and usage notes:
From Givaudan: ”Fruity, Apple, Pineapple Use: Manzanate has a fruity apple character with aspects of cider and sweet pineapple. It works very well at covering base odours and has great impact in water-contact products.”
Very useful for adding a fresh pineapple note to fine fragrance as well as in relatively larger amounts for an apple note.
Arctander describes it as having “Powerful, fruity-green, diffusive odor of Banana-Pineapple type, in proper dilution also reminiscent of Strawberry.” and goes on to say that at the time he is writing this ester is “rarely offered under its proper chemical name. It is manufactured by a number of creative flavor or perfume houses for ‘captive’ use in fragrances and – mostly – in flavor compositions.”
Fortunately for us, this material is no-longer captive, so everyone can benefit from its use.
