Description and usage notes:
A powerful, exceptionally fresh and attractive green note reminiscent of the scent in a flower shop, this material was an IFF captive until 2008. It lasts for about three hours on a strip making it a top-to-middle note. In pure form it’s quite aldehydic, revealing it’s potential only on dilution and blending.
The, characteristically short, description from IFF doesn’t really do justice to this lovely material: “Imparts fresh, natural green notes to fragrances. Fruity, apple, pear, green”
Arcadi Boix Camps writing in 2009 is more evocative: “Montaverdi, just recently released from captivity, is the most outstanding of the existing Cis-3-Hexenyl esters. By far it is the most powerful – at least 10 times stronger than Cis-3-Hexenyl Acetate and Liffarome. Montaverdi combines with other cis-3-hexenl esters giving to them an extra greenness, a lushness, recalling abundance and even luxuriance” .
As this is an expensive material, best appreciated in high dilution, it is offered here at 1% in IPM but it is also available undiluted and at 10% in DEP if you prefer.
