Description and usage notes:
This Symrise product looks on the face of it like another sandalwood odourant and although it can certainly contribute a fresher quality to a sandalwood base that is very attractive, it’s more versatile than this.
The woody-freshness is applicable to many fragrance types and it also has an enhancing effect when used with ionones. There is an ambery facet that will synergise well with other amber ingredients and a tropical-fruit aspect too. Like Vertenex, this material can introduce a woody top-note to fragrances.
Symrise describe it like this:
Odor Description: | woody, floral, violet, fruity |
Stability: | body lotion (good), shampoo/shower gel (good), soap (poor), AP roll-on 15% (good), detergent powder conc. (good), cleaner liquid citric acid (poor), cleaner APC liquid (poor), bleach (poor) |
Perfumery Use: | gives woody vibrancy to violet notes; provides woody accents to tropical fruit concepts; helpful ingredient for sandalwood bases |
Use Level: | 1 – 15 % |

A great product when used with combinations of other Sandalwood materials. It’s effects with Javanol, Ebanol, Sandela, Hindinol, Santaliff, Sandalore, Polysantol and Amyris oil is very beautiful indeed. Exploring Mysore Acetate’s effects with the aforementioned products in a complex with ionones, in particular dihydro ionone beta. The results so far are very striking. A must try for any sandalwood lovers.
