Useful for adding power to natural geranium and rose as well as being an interesting green modifier in many other fragrance types, particularly Fougere. Description from Givaudan: ”Pelargene has a powerful geranium character, reminiscent of crushed leaves. It adds substantivity and body, particularly to floral fragrances, especially rose and geranium.” Arcadi Boix Camps, writing in 1985, gave this description of Phenirane “a fresh geranium fragrance, more metalic and less rosy-voluptous than phenoxanol, with a more technical aspect characterized by a strong diphenyl oxide nuance.”
