Description and usage notes:
Sandalore was originally developed by Givaudan, though now made by many manufacturers since the patent expired. The offering here is made by DRT, who also make the Sylvamber that we sell. It is a powerful, diffusive and extremely tenacious product, imparts a rich, warm, natural sandalwood character to perfumes, as well as volume and substantivity.
Together with Ebanol, and other sandalwood odourants it serves as an effective sandalwood replacement. Note that as with the musks not everyone can smell all the sandalwood odourants and as a result it is usual to incorporate several into a blend both to ensure that everyone can smell it and to achieve a more rounded and natural effect. The Sandalwood Blend developed by the Pell Wall Perfumer is a ready made blend for that purpose and includes sandalore among other ingredients.
Arcadi Boix Camps said of it in 1985 “It has a sweet, warm , strong, woody, santalaceous odor, which is immediately perceived on a blotter, and has a top note power about 50% greater than the essential oil of sandalwood, though it doesn’t last as long.”

What a beauty. Just added some drops to my guaiac/clove/flowery mix (along with some drops of Vertofix) and voila! Warm, soft, sweet.
