Description and usage notes:
This is has more powerful and diffusive odour than natural Sandalwood. Excellent to support the natural or as part of a sandalwood accord, though I don’t recommend using it alone. Where this material really comes into its own is as a fixative – 0.5-5% of the concentrate will give effective fixation to most blends.
The material offered here is manufactured by IFF, who add some BHT to improve stability and describe it like this: “Sandalwood, woody, milky, creamy. To give increased substantivity and sandalwood character to fragrances.“
Note that this isn’t the same material as Hindinol despite sharing a CAS number, see that product for details.

Many synonyms for the molecule sandal butenol…but it is a sandal very good, not very strong but penetrating and diffusive. Creamy, delicate but with character. SantalIff of Pell Wall will always find a place in the fragrance.
