Presented here at 20% in DPG for ease of handling but we also stock the solid material if you prefer. Not much like strawberries on it’s own but combined with suitable fruity esters it brings out the sweet melting scent of strawberries. If you’re looking for a ready-made strawberry accord we suggest the Strawberry Oliffac by IFF.
Present in a wide range of natural scents from roasted meat to raspberries, pineapple juice and lychees this is a versatile ingredient, that can be used as a sweetening agent in virtually any fragrance as well as providing the sweet background to fruity notes.
When Arctander was writing this was a very new material, not yet in widespread use, he describes it as “Intensely caramellic-fruity, ‘jam-like’ odor with some resemblance to the odor of Palatone (Maltol). The odor is also reminiscent of that of ‘cooked Pineapple’.” and goes on to suggest that it is likely to go on to become very useful: as so often he was correct and this is now a widely used material in fragrances.
