Description and usage notes:
Very nice, substantive, amber woody note from IFF (Trimofix O) who describe it as: “Powerful, diffusive, amber, woody note with vetivert and smoky, tobacco nuances. Slight musky undertone”. A versatile material, similar to cedramber in many ways but longer lasting and with the added vetiver and tobacco qualities. An effective fixative alone but also in synergy with more expensive amber ingredients like Ambrofix or Fixateur 505.
According to Arcadi Boix Camps it is “used like caryophyllene monoethyl alcohol, but with greater intensity … it has a woody-amber note with shades of vetiver and tobacco”

Leatherly, smoky, fits perfectly with “russian leather” combinations, especially those with significant amounts of birch tar. I have to try it with some benzoine (and/or) myrrh-heavy mixes.

[EDIT] A beast. It is able to transform your most delicate and flowery mixes into the “smoky leather” at no time. Use sparingly. 😀 I did a mistake and measured a tiny drop too much 🙂
