Description and usage notes:
A very effective, tenacious, macrocyclic musk. Until very recently this was an IFF captive (meaning it was available only for use by IFF perfumers).
Somewhat similar to the better known Ethylene brassylate (actually it’s very close in molecular structure, having just one molecule difference), this particular musk has top-note effects (comparable with Helvetolide for example), yet will last for a week on a smelling strip and has a slightly red-fruit quality and a fresh dry-down almost reminiscent of floralozone.
The manufacturer IFF, describe the odour as: “Soft, delicate musk, red fruit”
Note that at colder temperatures, this musk can solidify. It is easily melted by warming, but will re-crystalise if the whole volume of the material isn’t completely melted. At normal room temperature, particularly with smaller quantities (below 500g) it remains a clear, water-white liquid.
Extremely good value at this price and deserves wider usage.
