Description and usage notes:
A exceptional quality of sweet orange oil, extracted from wild oranges in the West Indies.
Orange oil is one of the most widely used natural products in perfumery and an essential of the palette. This particular oil is full of character and depth not present in the more usual California, Florida and Brazilian kinds: a beautiful and exceptional top-note material that deserves to be better known: ideal for fine fragrance use.

This is a very interesting, very lovely orange oil. Side by side on a test-strip with a regular ‘citrus aurantium’ and a Sicilian Blood Orange essential oil, I note the following. The regular orange oil has a tangy, orange-peel, slightly tart aroma; whereas the Blood Orange has a fruitier, sweeter (tangerine) and ice-lolly profile.
The West Indian Sweet Orange is, by comparison, sweeter but more full-bodied, with a slightly greenish (Green Mandarin-ish) middle note that adds complexity and contrasts with the sweetness. The most ‘perfume-like’ of any orange oil I’ve tried so far.
