Description and usage notes:
Guaiacol is a very powerful material, requiring caution in use, but nevertheless of quite wide application.
Arctander gives some indication of the uses: “This Phenolether is used in perfume compositions in very modest amounts for certain floral types, such as Cananga and YlangYlang, minute traces in Lilac, Narcissus, Lily, etc. It is also useful in Carnation, while somewhat higher proportions can be used in Spice complexes. It is accompanied by the usual draw-backs of simple Phenols – sensitivity to alkali, air, daylight, iron, etc.”
Due to the sheer power of this material, we will normally supply a 10% solution – if you prefer pure we make a small additional charge but the price of the material itself is the same – please indicate your preference in the box at checkout. Note that you only need to pay the melting charge once however much Guaiacol you’re buying.
What we are offering here is a natural isolate (conforming to both EU and US regulations) and is at greater than 99% purity, it is extracted in China from pine roots:

very strong high quality guiac note, think I’ll need a few more things to blend it with. Quite different to birch or smokey Vetiver.
