Description and usage notes:
Warm-herbaceous nutty, tobacco-like odor of considerable power with good tenacity despite having a low boiling point.
Arctander says it is “Widely used in perfume compositions, although generally at very low concentration (perceptible effects well below 1% in the perfume oil). It forms part of the herbaceous theme in many New Mown Hay, Tobacco, Hyacinth, Hawthorne, Carnation, Meliolotus, etc. and supports floral notes in Gardenia Honeysuckle, Mimosa, Hyacinth and many others. It gives interesting effects in Pine Needle fragrances, in Amber bases and, in general, as an additive to Coumarin or Nonanolide”
This is solid at room temperature – our current stock is in powder form – it is also sometimes supplied as a solid that must be melted for use.
