Description and usage notes:
Another neglected perfumery material that deserves to be better known, this comes as crystals that dissolve slowly in ethanol up to about 5%, it has fixative properties and is a useful modifier for many fragrance types particularly with floral and chocolate or incense notes.
Here’s Arctander talking about its scent: “Sweet, balsamic-floral odor of considerable tenacity. lt has notes in common with Vanillin but is not as sweet and not as Vanilla-like, more floral and slightly greener.”
The material would probably see much wider use but for its relatively high price: to make it more affordable and easier to use we also offer it as a 10% solutionÂ
