Description and usage notes:
Toscanol is a versatile product that is particularly useful where regulatory restrictions inhibit the amounts of the more traditional anisic ingredients or where a longer lasting anisic quality is needed. Typical usage level is from 0.1% to as much as 5% when a strongly anisic quality is required, the material has good tenacity (two days on a smelling strip), it is stable in almost all media and can be used in soaps and candles effectively.
Description from Givaudan: “Odor: Anisic, Green, Liqueur like, Herbaceous. Use: Powerful and linear anisic, sweet-spicy note of estragole (methyl chavicol), Licorice and Sassafras oil character with a touch of Saffran, Myrtle, Opopanax and Carvi Seeds. Toscanol can be used in all kind of accords to add anisic agrestic and aromatic character. Useful in Fine Fragrance and in Consumer Products as a substitute for Basil oil, tarragon oil, synthetic estragole (methyl chavicol) and Safrole.”
