Description and usage notes:
IPA, sometimes known as rubbing alcohol is an alternative to ethanol, sometimes used as a solvent in perfumery, however its strong smell is much more difficult to cover successfully than ethanol and it’s just as flammable so ethanol is normally preferred. However as IPA isn’t drinkable it isn’t taxed, does not require any additives to make it inedible as is necessary with ethanol, and so here at Pell Wall we find it’s very useful as a clean-up solvent: it’s cheap, virtually all perfumery materials dissolve in it readily, it evaporates very quickly and leaves no sticky residue.
IPA is also a very effective sanitiser for surfaces where it will kill off virtually all bacteria and viruses, including coronavirus.
